Santa Pics and Gingerbread House Contest!

Madi was such a good girl and told Santa what she wanted for Christmas. I was surprised she didn't cry. Her wish list this year is a Barbie toothbrush and a big dolly. Chase just wants boy toys since all of ours are pink. he he. It has been fun (trying to) teach Madi about the real meaning of Christmas this year. We went to the temple lights and saw the nativity and the big statue of Jesus Christ. She was so amazed by the whole thing. Then, we did a sticker nativity project where we put the stickers of the characters on a piece of paper (really simple, I know) and I explained each one. She is still a little bit confused whether Jesus is a baby or an adult. And I asked her who Jesus' dad was and she said Santa. So funny. She is only barely 3.

Also we had the Annual Heid Gingerbread House Contest a little early this year since Ty and Ash were going to Utah for Christmas.

Tyler and Ashley's is on the left and Tiffini and Derrick's is on the right.
Those are the penguins of the Madagascar movie.
Ours is the red car and Tiana and Tracy's is on the right.

So a little back story to our house, Tracy, Trevors mom, recently bought a brand new Kia Soul. It is one of those boxy cars and its bright red. She is known as Santa around here since she loves to go overboard on Christmas gifts. So we've been calling it the Sleigh. So that's why we made a red Kia Soul Santa's Sleigh gingerbread house.

We each got a vote but couldn't vote for our own and then read them Survivor style. This family is so fun to be a part of!!
Guess who won? Santa's Sleigh Baby ~!!!!

Our trip to Hot-lanta

Before Thanksgiving we went to Georgia for our friend Matt Spring's wedding.  Matt and Trevor have been friends forever (they are more like brothers) and played high school and college baseball together, even though they are three years apart.  They were roommates in college for one year and then both signed to play professional baseball, Matt with the Tampa Bay Rays.  He is still playing AA, which is where he met Meredith a few years ago.  Trevor was a groomsmen in the wedding.  It was a beautiful wedding and reception.  We will miss Matt, especially around Christmas time and the gingerbread contest.

The happy couple and Trevor in a wrestling match with Chase.
He is getting so hard to dress or change his diaper.

My little stud!!
I was so excited to see Trev in a tux, the first time since our wedding.  Both of my studs.
After the rehearsal dinner, the boys had a home run derby.
It was fun since half of the guys were current or former pro players.
You were only allowed to use metal if you had never played past college.
Trevor was in heaven.

At the Coca Cola facility.  You could try all 64 flavors of pop.  We were sick to our stomachs after trying almost all of them.  If you ever go do not try the Beverly!

What we've been up to

So we made the long trip to Arizona last month. We made it a long vacation visiting family and friends along the way. Thanks to my Dad and Stepmom, Shelley and JL, and Tiana for letting us crash at your houses. We are living at my in-laws the Heid's house in Glendale right now. Trevor is actually still finishing up school in Portland but will be home for Thanksgiving and then in December for good. We have been missing him lots but I'm grateful for my in laws for all the help. It's not easy having your hubby gone with two kids. The kids are having a blast playing with their cousins. We love AZ so much. It is a little warm but I'll take that over the rain any day. We have found some playgroups, the library storytime is awesome, and Madi joined a Ballet class that she loves. The kids are hilarious in their ballet outfits. Oh and after four weekends of working, the tournaments are over!! We are grateful for the work. Next is boards and graduation for Trevor and shopping for a house. That should be fun!!

I know I need to catch up but here's some Halloween pics

We had such a fun Halloween here in AZ. We went trick or treating with my brothers and sisters in Marley Park. It was such a nice night too. We didn't even have to wear sweaters. I am loving the weather here by the way.

We went with an Under the Sea theme this year since Madi wanted to be Ariel. I was Ursula, the Sea Witch, Chase is Sebastian the crab (his costume was actually a dog costume I found really cheap), and Trevor dressed up like a fisherman.
The Cousins.

Goodbye beautiful Oregon Coast :)

This weekend we decided to spend one last day at the beach so we were off to Seaside. I just love Seaside, I love the shops and the salt water taffy, the arcade. It has a small town touristy feel. Trevor and I had to play our favorite game at the arcade, a kid on each of our laps. We ate a Big Kahuna burger, took Madi for a ride on the carousel, and then decided to check out Astoria. There is nothing like the Oregon Coast.

In Astoria, the bridge to Washington. It was huge!
Chase and I relaxing on our beach towels. There was a sand eating incident or two.
Playing with Dad and her digger.

This is what I've been up to.

Yes, packing. This is pretty much what my whole house looks like by now. We are moving to Arizona this week, at least me and the kids are. Trevor has one more quarter in the clinic but will be in Arizona like half of the time. The PODS come tomorrow and I feel pretty ready to go. I have been a little sad leaving Portland and trying to enjoy every minute we have left. I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds.

These crazy kids being little helpers.
We got together with some friends for a casual see ya later party. We will miss you guys.

Chase and his bud Canon. Ya nose picker you!

My Boy is 6 Months Old

My little Chase is 6 months old now and I wonder where the time has gone. He has changed so much in the last few weeks even. Here are some of his latest accomplishments:
  • He is a sitter.
  • He can roll and scoot anywhere he wants to go. No actual crawling yet.
  • He got his first haircut. It doesn't look like he has much hair since its blonde but it was growing a little long over his ears so we buzzed the back.
  • He has been teething like crazy but still no teeth.
  • He loves baby food and rice cereal.
  • He loves his sister. She can always make him laugh.
  • He's pretty much the coolest kid ever! What a stud!
We got his pictures done this last week and I love them.

Nakee baby!

Oxbow Park

We went to Oxbow park yesterday, a 30 minute jaunt from our humble home. We had a lovely campfire dinner with our friends the Fullmers. It was in the perfect location with a little park right by our spot so we could keep an eye on the kids. A visitor showed up and tried to steal some of our dinner. So Madi fed her some bread and then she wouldn't leave. She kept calling it Bambi. It was basically my idea of camping, 3 hours of fun and then go home and shower. Haha!
The boys getting their grill on. We had a yummy campfire dutch oven dinner and smores.
So good! And bananas and apples with chocolate and marshmallow cooked inside.
Teaching moment....her first toasted marshmallow. Don't let his face fool you, he was enjoying this.
Thanks Tom and Rosie for the grub and the fun. We will have to do it again before we leave.
33 days and counting!!

Anderson Family Reunion

One reason we went to Utah was that my Dad's family was getting together in Park City for a mini reunion. I haven't seen some of my Dad's family in 10+ years so it was really fun to reconnect. I forgot how funny/crazy my family is, it was a lot of fun.
The Cousins
Eva and Grandpa Dave
Madi and Cade aka Sparkle
My Uncle Neil, one I hadn't seen in too long. He and
Trev are going to golf next time we are in California.
Grandpa Mark and Chaser, my Uncle Lane
My Grandma Vea and her kids, minus Kay, Sally, and Randy

Trip to Utah

We took a trip to Utah last week to visit lots of friends and family. We had a blast. Trevor went fishing a few times with the boys. Madi played with all of the cousins/friends there. We had a family reunion. Basically there was not enough time, is there ever? Did I mention we cut Madi's hair into a bob? I love it.

I got to see my BFF Shelley and her family.
Madi found a new boyfriend in her son Ryker. He is handsome.

We stayed at my Dad's house and he took us out four wheeling one day.
Trevor's parents happened to be in Utah that weekend too so we got to stay with them a few days too. Also one night we got to see Danny, Andrea, their new baby Lizzie, David and Delynn, Grandma Bonnie, Aunt Janice, and go to dinner. We didn't know this family would be there either so it was a nice surprise.

We had so much fun we are going back in about 5 weeks. We can't wait.

Chase is growing up so fast. He is getting chubby alright. He is still my happy boy most of the time. Still sleeps through the night. He still melts my heart, he is such a little sweetie. He can almost sit up by himself, loves toys, loves people. He is a little flirt. He is a drool monster lately. I have to change his clothes at least once a day. He is growing out of his clothes like crazy, he is wearing 9-12 months now. He had his 4 month appt this week and the stats are in.
